Our Mustangs came out swinging in their first game of the season and battled all the way to the final whistle, falling just short to Potts Camp, 40–36.
And that FOURTH QUARTER?! 🔥
That was Mustang football. Heart. Grit. Fight. Pride. They never folded, never quit, and gave us a glimpse of just how dangerous this team can be.
It’s only up from here. Next stop: West Memphis Christian.

📣 Mini Cheer Camp is here! Hosted by the SHS Cheerleaders for K–6th graders. Campers will practice September 12th from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Strayhorn Gym and perform at halftime during the home game on September 18th! Cost is $45 (includes T-Shirt and Snacks) 📣

Our Junior High Mustangs may not have gotten the win tonight, but they finished STRONG—putting touchdowns on the board late and carrying some serious momentum into the next one.
And the atmosphere? That’s what Strayhorn is all about.
A full house in the stands. A loud and bold cheer team. Mr. Donahue on the mic. Coach Bradley running the scoreboard. Our Varsity Mustangs serving the younger guys as the chain gang and water boys. And a crowd that kept the energy going!
Wins will come. Tonight, we saw something just as important—a program supporting a program, older Mustangs pouring into younger Mustangs, and a community showing up for all of them.
